The Biotechnology and Bioengineering Center (BBC) is an interdisciplinary Center at the Medical College with the specific mission to foster the collaborative development and application of novel technology in biomedical research and to expand translational science efforts. The Center has seven major research foci: Proteomics, Genomics, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Molecular Imaging, Cell and Tissue Engineering, Drug Discovery and Technology Development, each with an emphasis on the application and transfer of technology.
The Center faculty have spear-headed new initiatives including: the Mass Spectrometry Service Facility, the Translational Medicine Initiative, the Flourescent Imaging Center, the Tissue Engineering Program, the Computational Bioengineering Group and the Center of Excellence in Genomics Science.
